DSLR 카메라 계조 비교 Dynamic range

디지털 카메라에서 필름에 비해 단점 중의 하나로 계조를 꼽을 수 있다.

풍경사진, 강렬한 조명이 들어간 사진, 하늘 사진 등 빛의 밝은 부분과 어두운 부분이 명확할때에,

계조범위가 넓다면 밝은부분과 어두운 부분을 모두 표현할 수 있고, 색도 잘 살아 날 것이다.

아래아래 DSLR 모델별, 계조(dynamic range)를 보면, 카메라마다 표현할 수 있는 노출의 범위가 다른 것을 볼 수 있다.

D40X가 가장 계조가 좋으며, D40X와 400D가 밝은 부분에 강한 것을 볼 수 있다.

햇빛아래에서 인물을 찍을 때, 볼이나 코등에 햇빛이 바로 비칠 때, 혹은 하얀옷이나 악세사리가 하얗게 떠버리는 현상이 나타나는데,

아래 계조 차트에서 밝은 부분을 많이 표현해 줄수록, 색을 더 잘 표현해준다고 생각하면 되겠다.

또한 계조범위가 넓으면 후보정시에도 유리하다.

 

아래 열거된 카메라외에 계조가 좋은 카메라로는(훨씬 좋은) 후지필름의 S5Pro,S3pro(S시리즈)와 캐논의 1DMark시리즈를 꼽을 수 있다.

Dynamic Range compared

The graph below tells a very interesting story, the D40X delivering approximately the same overall dynamic range as the Canon EOS 400D and more than the D40. The biggest advantage however came over the Olympus E-410 which scored about two thirds of a stop (0.7 EV) less highlight range than the D40X.

The wedges below are created by our measurement system from the values read from the step wedge, the red lines indicate approximate shadow and highlight range (the dotted line indicating middle gray).
